AI Book Club: Gender Queer by Maia Kobabe In-Person
Identity. Memory. Expression. Let’s talk about it, with a little AI help.
We turn to Gender Queer, the most challenged book in the United States in recent years. Why does a deeply personal memoir provoke such intense reactions? And how can we use AI to examine public discourse responsibly, especially around identity and representation?
Copies of the book are available at the front desk for checkout in advance of the session.
You’ll learn how to:
-
Explore graphic memoir interpretation using multimodal AI
-
Identify bias in AI-generated summaries of LGBTQ+ narratives
-
Analyze discussion patterns and public reception over time
Why it’s banned: LGBTQ+ identity, sexual references, and illustrated content.
