Friends of Cotuit Library Speaker Series: Gilbert Newton (NEW DATE) In-Person

Join us for a special thank-you event to close out our wonderful speaker series—free and open to all! While lunch will not be provided, we invite you to enjoy this enriching presentation featuring Gilbert Newton, a respected environmental and marine science educator, author, and conservationist.

A Cape Cod native, Gil has dedicated his career to teaching coastal ecology, botany, and environmental technology at Sandwich High School, Cape Cod Community College, and Massachusetts Maritime Academy. He is a founder of the Barnstable Land Trust and a past president of the Association to Preserve Cape Cod, playing a key role in protecting and promoting awareness of our region’s fragile ecosystems.

In his talk, “The Ecology of a Cape Cod Salt Marsh,” Gil will guide us through the essential role these unique habitats play in coastal protection, wildlife support, and environmental health. His PowerPoint presentation will offer a compelling look at the science, conservation efforts, and wonders of these ever-changing landscapes.
